Getting started with Podium

This walkthrough takes you from a new account to a presentation you could open in a meeting room. It takes about ten minutes, and everything you make here is yours to keep on the Free plan.

1. Create your account

Sign up with an email address and a password, or continue with Google. You land straight in your workspace — there is no setup wizard to sit through. The Free plan starts immediately with 2 projects and 6 presentations.

  • Use an email address you control; it is how password resets and support replies reach you
  • You can change your password later from Settings without contacting us

2. Create a project

A project is the container for a body of work: a client, a campaign, a conference, a quarter. From the workspace, create your first project and give it a name you would recognise a year from now. Inside a project you can add folders if the work naturally splits further.

  • Name projects after the real thing, not the file: "Q3 board" beats "Decks v2"
  • Folders are optional — add them when a project genuinely has sub-groups

3. Add your first presentation

Create a presentation inside the project, then bring in your slides. The fastest route is dropping a set of exported slide images straight onto the presentation — Podium imports them in order and builds the deck for you. Each slide can carry its own speaker notes.

4. Present it

Open the presentation in presenter view. If you have a second display connected, Podium can put the audience view on one screen and your notes, timer and next-slide preview on the other. On a single screen you can still run a solo view with your notes visible.

5. Keep the workspace tidy

Recent shows what you have touched lately. Archive puts finished work out of the way without losing it. Trash is recoverable until you empty it. You will rarely need to think about any of this, which is the point.
